Glass Wine Decanter, 1L

A handmade one litre glass decanter with a wide base. The wide base is the functional part: it spreads a bottle of wine into a shallow pool, which puts far more of it in contact with air than the narrow neck of a bottle ever could.

Half an hour in a decanter softens a young red and lets an older one leave its sediment behind. It also looks a good deal better on the table than a bottle.

Why you'll love it

• Wide base — maximum surface for the wine to breathe.
• Takes a full bottle — 750 ml with room for air above.
• Clear glass — shows the colour of the wine.
• Not only wine — serves water or juice just as well.
