Diatomite Stone Dish Drying Mat

A folding dish drying mat made from slats of diatomaceous earth — a natural, porous stone that drinks water on contact. Set a wet glass on it and the ring underneath disappears in under a minute, absorbed into the stone and then released as it dries.

That is the difference from a silicone or fabric mat, which only hold water until you deal with it. A stone mat never sits in a puddle, so there is nothing to wring out and nothing to turn musty. The slats are joined so the mat folds or rolls away when the worktop is needed.
