Hanging Wooden Banana Rack

A wooden hook stand for hanging bananas. It looks like a novelty and isn't: bananas bruise wherever they rest, and a bunch left in a fruit bowl develops soft brown patches at every contact point within a couple of days.

Hung, nothing touches anything. Air circulates round the whole bunch and they ripen evenly rather than going over on one side while the other is still green.

Why you'll love it

• No bruising — nothing rests against anything.
• Even ripening — air reaches the whole bunch.
• Frees the fruit bowl — bananas out, everything else in.
• Wooden — reads as kitchen furniture, not a gadget.

Details

• Material: wood
• Assembly: self-installed
• Ideal for: bananas, grapes, hanging fruit

Keep it away from the rest of your fruit. Bananas give off ethylene as they ripen, which will bring everything nearby on faster than you want.
