Wooden Spoon Rest

A wooden spoon rest, for the spoon that currently lives on the worktop leaving a ring of sauce. Small, cheap, and the sort of thing nobody buys until they've wiped the same patch of counter for the fourth time in one cooking session.

Wood rather than ceramic means it won't chip, won't slide on a wet surface, and won't clatter every time you put a spoon down. It sits beside the hob and does one job.

Why you'll love it

• Keeps the counter clean — one place for the spoon between stirs.
• Won't chip or slide — wood, not glazed ceramic.
• Quiet — no clatter every time you set a spoon down.
• Small footprint — lives permanently beside the hob.

Details

• Material: wood
• Ideal for: cooking spoons, spatulas, ladles, tasting spoons

Wipe it after use rather than letting sauce dry on. Oil occasionally if the wood starts looking pale.
